About me

I’m a nearly 32 year old Albuquerque native who loves all things chile. Mexican food is certainly my favorite overall cuisine, and New Mexican is a great subsection. Although there is more to New Mexican cuisine than simply chile, I love the feel of heat on my tongue, so I want to focus on that aspect of the cuisine. Besides being a foodie, I also love brewing beer and learning new things.

I’ve worked in several bars and restaurants as well as traveled far and wide looking for interesting flavors. I’ve lived in 4 different countries, but returned to Albuquerque to be closer to family. I started a web magazine about things to do in Vietnam. In addition, I have a blog about brewing and fermentation, which is something I am a certified geek in.
If you have any cool restaurants with delicious chile based dishes you think I should showcase, please leave a comment. I don’t have too much free time, but I am definitely willing to travel for a good meal.
Overall, I want to promote the amazing nature of New Mexico chile. There are so many different varieties, each with a unique flavor profile. There is really something special about New Mexico during the chile season, and I am really looking forward to the 2022 season. I have a favorite spot for roasted chile that you should check out if you haven’t already.

This year I am also working on setting up a spice company in Albuquerque as well. As you can see, I am a busy guy. I feel like I have earned my stripes in terms of flavor, and hopefully I can show you the best places for New Mexican food and possibly drinks in Albuquerque and around New Mexico.
